The 24th Asian Composers’ League Festival and Conference will be held in Israel from October 18-24, 2004. The ACL was founded in 1973 and gathers composers from Korea, Japan, China/Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam & Israel.

All festivals so far have been organized in the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, so that this is a unique opportunity for the European public /which is not too far from Israel/ to get to know the creativity of Asian composers.

The following orchestras will take part in the festival: Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon Le-Zion, Israel Chamber Orchestra, the ensembles Israel Contemporary Players Jerusalem and Musica Nova Consort Tel-Aviv, chamber orchestras and solo performers. In Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and at the Galilean lake the work of 70 composers from the mentioned countries, Jordan, Palestine and France will be performed. Within the festival there will also be a competition for the best composition of young authors.
